Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
1. Who we are
Among is operated by Specialized Solutions LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company (“Among,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Among’s websites, apps, and related services, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses Among, including people who view what an author shares with them and people whose contact details an author gives us.
In short
- Among is built for private sharing. What an author posts is visible only to the people they choose.
- We don’t sell your personal information, show ads, or use your information for advertising.
- You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information at any time by emailing support@among.blog.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. Account details such as your name, email address, and password; content you create, such as posts, photos, videos, comments, and reactions, and details about it such as dates and locations; your settings; and anything you send us when you contact us.
Information authors give us about others. When an author invites someone, they give us that person’s name and contact details, such as an email address or phone number. If you were invited, this is how we got your information. Section 8 explains your choices.
Information collected automatically. How you use Among (for example, what you’ve already viewed, so we can show you what’s new), device and browser information, IP address, time zone, logs and diagnostic data, and records of changes to account, access, and billing settings. Photos and videos can contain embedded information, such as when and where they were taken, which we may use to help organize content. We remove that embedded information from the photos other people see.
Information from others. If you sign in with a third-party account such as Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information you authorize. Our payment processor tells us about your subscription and payments. We never receive or store your full card number.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use only the cookies and browser storage Among needs to work, such as keeping you signed in, protecting against security threats, and remembering your preferences. We don’t use advertising cookies or track you across other websites, so we don’t respond differently to “Do Not Track” signals. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve Among, including showing content to the people its author has chosen;
- send invitations on an author’s behalf, and send you service messages and the notifications you’ve chosen;
- process payments and manage subscriptions;
- keep Among safe and secure, and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse;
- find and fix problems;
- comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
Legal bases (EEA, UK, and Switzerland). We process personal information to perform our contract with you; for our legitimate interests in running a secure, reliable service and delivering the invitations authors request, balanced against your rights; with your consent where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time; and to meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax records.
We don’t make decisions about you by automated means alone that have legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who can see your information
- The people an author shares with. Authors control who can view their posts. Your comments, reactions, and name are visible to the author and, depending on the author’s settings, to others they share with.
- Private links. Some content can be viewed by anyone holding a private link an author sends. Treat these links like passwords.
- Beyond Among. Anyone who can view something can copy or share it outside Among, so share only with people you trust.
- Search engines. Among is not publicly discoverable, and we ask search engines not to index content.
- Our team accesses content only as needed to run, support, and secure Among, to investigate a report, or to comply with the law.
5. How we share information
We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only:
- with service providers that help us run Among, such as hosting and storage, email and text message delivery, media processing, location lookup, error monitoring, payment processing, and sign-in. They may use it only to provide their services to us. A list of our current providers is available on request;
- when the law requires, such as in response to a court order or valid government request;
- to protect safety and rights, including those of our users, the public, and Among, and to report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children;
- in a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we’ll notify you before your information falls under a different policy;
- at your direction or with your consent.
6. International transfers
Among is based in the United States, where we store and process information. Our service providers may process it in other countries. For information from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved transfer mechanism. Email us for a copy of the safeguards that apply.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
- account information, for as long as your account is open;
- content, until its author deletes it or their account, or after their subscription has ended for an extended period (we email authors before deleting anything);
- information about invited people, until the author removes them or closes their account, or until the person asks us to delete it;
- security and audit logs, for a limited period, generally no more than a year;
- billing records, for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
After that, we delete or anonymize information within a reasonable time. Copies may remain in backups for a limited period. We may keep information longer when the law requires, or to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our Terms.
8. Your rights and choices
- Your account. Update your details and notification preferences in your account settings. Every notification email has a link to change them, and you can reply STOP to any text message from Among.
- Deleting. Delete your own content at any time. To delete your account, email support@among.blog from your account’s email address.
- If an author invited you. Ask the author to remove you, or email us and we’ll delete your information and stop messaging you.
- Privacy rights. Depending on where you live, including the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, and many US states, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information; to object to or restrict how we use it; to withdraw consent; and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or profiling, though we don’t do any of these. Location information from photos may count as sensitive information under some laws, and we use it only to provide Among.
- Making a request. Email support@among.blog. We’ll verify your identity, usually by confirming you control the email address or phone number we have for you, and respond within the time the law requires. Requests are free, and an authorized agent can make one for you. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. In the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, such as encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we’ll notify you as the law requires.
10. Children
Accounts are for people 18 and older, and Among is not directed to children. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we’ll delete it.
Authors may share photos of their own children with the people they invite, and are responsible for that content. If you believe Among holds content about your child without your permission, contact us.
11. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. For material changes, we’ll give account holders reasonable advance notice, such as by email.
